Haile Guesh | Ethiopia

What do you do in your home country and what do you hope to do upon your return? In particular, with the integration of your experiences here?

I'm a senior lecturer in law school. I teach different law courses in undergraduate programs at Bahir Dar University School of Law. I am also the founder of Bikeable Bahir Dar Environmental Club.

I would like to engage in different environmental protection initiatives or programs in the future because I have made many partnerships here and I would like to apply these partnerships and networking back home.

What is your favorite thing about your home country? How about Philadelphia?

I am from Ethiopia. I like the cultural events. The cuisine is very nice. We have thirteen months. Ethiopia is the birthplace of coffee, and the birthplace of the human. We are also the birthplace of the longest river in the world.

Philadelphia is a very historic city and I think I like the fact that it's so diverse, and again, I like the fact that it is where the Constitution and Declaration of Independence were born.

Do you have any hobbies or an interesting fact you wish to share about yourself?

To explore places. To conduct some tours. Meeting new people.

If I were to come to your home country, what is the first thing I should eat?
